Whitney born on the 9th of August 1963 and departed on the 11th of February 2012 at the age of 48. Below are some captured moments with her performing, with family and friends.Below are the high lights of the funeral and snippets of her effortless performances that she shared freely, to, for and with us.

A star lives on. Tributes were poured out to Whitney's family, friends and work associates worldwide. Jennifer Hudson gave a wonderful rendition of the hit song, written by Dolly Parton, 'I Will Always Love You', replaced with the word 'We' in place of I'.

Jennifer sings her heart out

As can see on Jennifer's face, it is so hard to stay composed, but she faired well.

Jennifer gives in to the sorrow that is an will be in all our hearts, forever. Well done Jennifer. Given the circumstances she held up well. Whitney would be proud

Tributes poured in at Whitney's childhood church, The New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, NJ. This is where her voice was nurtured and perfected with the close and constant training of her mother and other celebs that 'Nippy',the nickname, which Whitney was affectionately referred to by close family and friends since a little girl growing up. These included as well as some of those mentioned, Gladys Knight, Smokey Robinson, Aretha Franklin and others.

Whitney does duets
One of my most memorable times is when she performed for 'Live Aid', in the UK with Stevie Wonder.

Whitney and Mariah Carey, two of the greatest female award winning recording artists ever in history. They did the chart hit, for the Joseph film, 'The Prince Of Egypt'.

Whitney and Jennifer Hudson, would have made much more great music together. But they both sang Whitney's greatest songs. Jennifer sang in honor to Whitney at the 2010 BET Honor's Awards. Above together at the AMA's.

Whitney and good spiritual friend Cece Winans. The two lovely ladies sang, 'Count On Me', which was a hit song from the movie, 'Waiting To Exhale'. Written by Terri McMillian. Whitney had also been lined up for the sequel to this film.

Whitney reaches out her hands to Kim Burrell at the BET Honors Awards, 2010.

Whitney's talent shines out through her daughter, Bobbi Kristina. What a lovely pair. Whitney the mother, with Bobbi Kristina the daughter. The next generation has arrived .Mother and daughter show us how it's done.

She learnt from, the best. Cissy the Mother, with Whitney the daughter.

Queen of Soul, Aretha franklin. Known Whitney since she was five years old. Known as Whitney's Godmother. With all these great talents around her Whitney was predestined for Super, Global stardom - and that she is. A Global star.

Whitney was linked with several love interests. Here she is with the funny man, Eddie Murphy

Whitney can be barely seen in this shot on the right. She is with the late great, Michael Jackson - King of Pop, meets Queen of Pop. The Match made in heaven - even now as we speak! Ooh Heaven must be a beautiful place right now!

A young Whitney with Eddie Murphy and Clive Davis. The early days. Black and white beauty.

Happy in love. Ray J.  and Whitney. Where in an on and off relationship. He was also there to the end.

WHITNEY DOES TV AND FILMS

Whitney's early debut on a television show in the 80's.

Whitney was to do the sequel for Waiting to exhale. It is said that Jennifer Hudson is to take on her characters role. Great choice.

A film that was hand picked for her, much to the distress of producers and other crew, according to Kevin Costner, who spoke of this at the funeral service. As usual Whitney proved them wrong. Amazing how a wrong can turn out to be so right, but that's ok, as she made it and the film anyway, to be the blockbuster that it is. A timeless piece of work. the silver screen will miss the golden voice.

The Preacher's Wife', was so in her element. She could hands down offer this film and did the spiritual and gospel feel that engulfs our ears and mind. A feel good seasonal movie, like all her others will resonate her voice and roots with us always.

Cinderella, played by music sensation Brandy. One of a many films Whitney help produce, as well as act, sing and direct. look out for her last film, 'Sparkle', guest starring herself, Aretha Franklin and idol winner Jordan sparks. It is due out in the summer. It would be nice if it would be released on what would have been her 49th birthday on the 9th August, 2012
